World Malaria Day 2010

On April 25, 2010 the world celebrated the 3rd annual World Malaria Day to commemorate the global effort toward effective control and elimination of malaria. This year’s World Malaria Day marks a critical moment in time, as the international malaria community gets closer to the United Nations Secretary-General’s 2010 targets for delivering effective and affordable malaria protection and treatment to all people at risk. Events were held around the world to showcase the success achieved through massive scale-up campaigns, and to celebrate the overall progress of countries as they transition to malaria elimination.
